A Little of This...A Little of That

I wish I could say I was an editing machine this weekend, but unfortunately, the prospect of a nap was altogether too tempting on Saturday afternoon. So I indulged. And it felt wonderful.

Actually, Saturday was quite a low-key day. And there's nothing wrong with that. The highlight, though, was picking up my other stepson from the airport. He flew in from Kentucky and will spend Christmas with us. My daughter asked me all day if it was "6:00 yet" since that was the time we told her he'd be arriving. She was bouncing off the walls with excitement.

Sunday the kids played all day while I worked on and off on editing my novel. I finished editing my short story on Friday and already submitted it to a contest. We'll see what happens.

Only a few gifts left to buy - then I'll have to turn on the Christmas carols and start wrapping!

While chatting with Rene on Friday, she had some great news to tell me. Needless to say, I was doing the equivalent of jumping up and down in my chair, only on MSN Messenger. :-)

How was your weekend?

  1. It sounds like a great weekend, Melissa!

  2. My weekend was okay, we didn't do much. Actually, it was very nice. Both hubby & I were in good moods, surprise surprise. We went out to dinner and downed some (lots) of champagne. Like I need an excuse!

  3. Had family gatherings on Saturday and Sunday - so a full weekend.

    Rene's news was fantastic!

  4. Mine was busy - Friday evening we had Sean's office party. Fun, but held in a noisy restaurant which made it a little difficult to converse easily.

Saturday we had stocking stuffer shopping to do, then went out to see friends for dinner. When we got home, the neighbours were visiting with my in-laws so we stayed and talked to them until quite late.

Yesterday we did some cleaning, I did some stocking stuffer shopping for Sean's stocking, then we went to do measurements on our property and finally, I finished knitting and fringing the scarf I was working on as a present. And started another one - this time for my older niece.

Glad you had such a quiet weekend and managed to do some editing on Sunday :-)

  5. Aaaah, a nap. That sounds wonderful. ;)

  6. Grats on your friend. I just left her some comment love.

Me and my wife try to nap at least once every other weekend. It is so nice to hit the reset button on sleep in the middle of the day.

  7. Sounds like you're a lot farther ahead in the Christmas game than I am. :D Good job, Melissa!

Thanks for sharing the Rene link -- it's always uplifting to hear about someone who's waited so long and worked so hard finally breaking through.

I love to hear from you!
