Moving Right Along

Even though I'm still not 100%, I decided to ignore the sink of dirty dishes last night and opened up the laptop. And I got to write for the first time in about a week. It felt great. Oh, how I love to immerse myself in my fictional world, especially when the real world is teetering on its axis a little too much.

If you're a writer, what's your favorite part about the writing process?

  1. YAY YAY! Glad to hear you're feeling so much better. :)

My favorite part of the process is editing and rewrites and of course, living vicariously through my characters. They get to do so much more interesting stuff than I!

  2. Glad you're feeling better, Melissa. :)

My fave part about the writing process is immersing myself into another, larger world. Way back when, I used to fume about my mother-in-law's antics. Finally, I thought "There have to be better things to think about than this!" That's when I began writing. Honest! That's how it began, so I guess I owe her a "Thank you" for being such a pill.

  3. Hmmm, I think it's getting lost in the plotting process. Working through the nitty gritty. I love just retreating into a totally different world.

And the writing when it's going really well, when the story just seems to flow out of my head and onto paper or the screen.

  5. Glad you're starting to get back to feeling better.

I like when the ideas come out faster than my hands can type.

  6. The coolest thing I've experienced is the times when I feel I'm almost *channeling* the story, more than creating it.

Later, when I read those pages, I think I'm not half-bad!

It feels magical, and addictive. It makes me feel like I've truly found my place in life.

  7. Ooooh, I hate that I'm not getting around blogging anymore. I didn't know you'd been sick. Glad you're feeling better.

Favorite part? Just sitting down and actually writing, when the words flow and I don't notice the time.
