An Original and Exciting Title Here

It's occurred to me that my posts of late have been anything but exciting. I have no new nuggets of wisdom to impart nor do I have any witty anecdotes to share.

I attribute this lack of orginality to the fact that my sinuses are still clogged. Too bad there's not a Mr. Clean you can shoot up your nostrils.

It's been a week now since I've contracted this awful stuff and while I feel tons better than I did a week ago, I still don't feel 100%. So to cheer me up, here are a few things that have happened this week that have made me smile.

1. My daughter asked me to get out my old, decrepit laptop that is just gathering dust in the closet. She saw me working on my new laptop and wanted to do the same - even to the point of sitting on the couch and putting it in her lap. She started typing a short story about a skeleton and a tiger. I can't wait to see how it ends.

2. I persuaded hubby to stop by Wally World (Wal-Mart) last night (since he works right across the street from it) and buy me the new Chris Daughtry CD. I am in love with his song, It's Not Over and thanks to the magic of Amazon.com, I heard a preview of the entire album and decided to buy it.

3. It's Friday. 'Nuff said.

  1. Melissa, you don't always have to be profound in your posts. Sometimes I just like to catch up with you and see what you're doin'. :)

  2. How was the rest of the CD? I haven't heard the song yet but I loved his voice on Idol. And I'm desperate to hear some music that inspires me. I've been so bored with everything on the radio lately.

  3. I feel your pain, I'm still not well. I'm a lot better but this thing lingers. And lingers.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Kelly - It's actually rare that I love every song on a CD - but I love EVERY SINGLE SONG on this CD. He has an amazing voice and he wrote all the songs on this album. Good stuff.

Sympathies, Melissa. I, too, have a sinus infection. Ugh.

Also love the Daughtry CD. We saw the Idol gang when they toured, and Chris was as amazing live.

Feel better soon. Maybe a little Orlando Bloom paperdoll action will help? Click HERE.

I've been wondering about Daughtry, I'll have to check him out. If you like his voice, have you listened to the band "Live"? Chris recorded with them, in part because he sounds much like their lead singer, Ed K. Visit www.friendsoflive.com to see...

  7. Melissa, have you ever tried rinsing your sinuses with saline solution? My mother got me started doing that when my sinuses act up. It's hard to get used to it, but it really helps clear out congestion and sooth irritated nasal passages. If you're interested, let me know and I'll dig out the exact direction from her ENT.

  8. Oh man, I have a vision of you sticking a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser up your nose. I supposed if it worked...

My daughter started writing stories this weekend. Not sure where this came from. The spelling is a crack up because she is spelling phoenetically.

  11. Tess - She never finished the story. Got preoccupied with other things. That's an imaginative six-year-old for you! :-)

I love to hear from you!

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
