The Weekend

I love weekends. LOVE them.

I don't have many plans, which is fine with me. I don't want a lot of plans because this is my time off from work. Time to relax, spend time with my family, be lazy, and write.

I only have one thing to do over the weekend - my company's holiday party. It's going to be a low-key affair - free drinks, free food, and good company at a local sports bar.

Other than that, the weekend is mine to do with as I will. I'll probably try and get caught up on laundry, get some writing done, finish getting my living room in order (which I really didn't do after Christmas), and maybe do a bit of shopping since my daughter needs new jeans.

Do you like weekends? What are your plans for this weekend?

  1. Katie has baseball tryouts tomorrow although we are predicted to have rain. It should be a cold storm (well, cold for us). Dan is having a study group over on Sunday to study nuclear fusion.

  2. Um, I actually have a ton of work to do, both today and this weekend.

What I'd like to do is go to the movies. A lot. I haven't been since Narnia.

  3. We're doing a lot of stuff round the house this weekend - the real estate agents are coming to meet with us on Tuesday! Which means I have to get my office looking just a tad more organized and pick up all my clutter in the kitchen etc.

I am going for coffee with a friend later this morning, though, so that will be a nice break. AND Battlestar Galactica premieres tonight!!!! Yay!!!!!

  4. I especially love weekends where I don't have the two boys I watch during the week. Sometimes I have them for part of the day on Saturday. BUT NOT TODAY! I got to sleep in! Woohoo!

We usually do stuff with family on the weekends. For the past 11 years of our almost 12 year marriage we haven't lived near family, so we like to spend that time wisely.

Right now I'm once again trying to break down the mountain of dirty clothes in our house by washing. I tell ya, for a washer and dryer that's 12 years old.. we're doing good! I've somehow got 7 loads left, again. I know there's a significance with the #7 in the Bible, but why with my laundry? It seems like I always have 7 loads left. Does it mean I'm perfect? ha ha not.

I did read a good Susan Johnson book last night. See, I do stuff for myself even pre-weekend! hehe

  5. Rene - Nuclear fusion? Wow. Future scientist on your hands! At least you'll have a comfy retirement. LOL

Rachel - No work! Just writing! *grin*

Tess - I'm dreading the day when the real estate agents come over to the house. We have so much to do before then...don't even want to think about it!

Dana - I think our washer and dryer is over twenty years old. And they're still going. But the dryer takes FOREVER. I've been drying a load of towels since last night!
