I want warm weather. I'm tired of snow and cold. And for me to say this, well, it's something of a miracle. I love cold weather. But it's time. Time for green leaves and green grass. Time for warm spring breezes. Time for days spent outside in the sunshine. Time for bright, spring colors for my clothes (ah...an excuse to go shopping!), watching my daughter ride her bike, and taking long, meandering walks.
I'll savor the next few months, but once summer hits...I go into hibernation mode again. I know that sounds a bit strange, but I am not a heat person at all. It makes me cranky and growly and downright grouchy. I do my best in the spring, fall, and early winter.
Weekend included a lot of research, which I enjoyed, but which also prevented me from writing. However, I feel as though I have a much better grasp on the historical elements of my manuscript which is absolutely imperative. So it was definitely not time lost.
Soon, I'll be able to grab my lap top and sit on my front porch swing. Ah...bliss!

Sorry to hear you had a ton of snow as well. My poor mum and sis were hit with it in Ontario. Hope spring arrives for you soon :) Writing outside sounds lovely - not quite warm enough here for that either.
ReplyDeleteI hate the cold. Hate it! I love spring and fall best but I actually don't mind summer at all. Heat doesn't do me in the way cold does!
ReplyDeleteTess, we actually didn't get near as much as some other areas did, and thankfully, most of it is almost melted thanks to a pleasant weekend.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least we agree on the spring and fall part, Ell! ;-)
And I'm ready to go fishing.
ReplyDeleteTravis - I've gone fishing before and I can't say that I enjoy it a lot. My husband does, so he takes our kids. Maybe it's the whole sitting and waiting for a fish to bite while bugs eat me alive.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention it was 80 degrees here today? Did I mention I got a pedicure today so I could start wearing my open toed shoes this week?
ReplyDeleteSure, Rene, rub it in!
ReplyDelete;-)
Did I mention that I hate Rene ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I so want to have bare feet and sunshine!!
Melissa, I know that you've SAID you love cold weather before, but I'm not sure I believe that someone is really telling the truth when they say that!
Hahahaha, Kacey! I DO love cold weather. When it starts to get crisp and cool in the fall, I absolutely relish every bit of it - mainly because I'm so glad that it's not hot anymore!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I love the cold and the snow but now I'm ready for warmth and sunshine. I'm tired of being cold all the time. Just wait till July and August when I'm complaining about the heat. :o)
ReplyDeleteI'll be complaining right there with ya, Shirley! July and August are absolutely miserable in Nebraska, especially with the humidity.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are so cheerful, aren't they? Like you, I can't wait for spring!
ReplyDeleteAnd sunflowers in a field in Italy are even better! ;-)
