That Driver's License Photo

If I were brave (and on this, I'm not going to be), I would show you my brand new driver's license photo.

But you'll just have to miss feasting your eyes on my, er, striking image. I don't think I have ever taken a good photo for my DL. In fact, I swear they fiddle with those dumb cameras to make sure that everyone looks bad. I also wasn't too happy with the cost - $24! Sheesh. I could have bought a couple books for that.

I guess I should just be thankful that I didn't get any tickets between now and the last time I renewed my license, otherwise I would have had to take the written test. As it was, I just had to stick my head in the little viewer and read off a bunch of numbers. Passed with flying colors. Ha!

Have you ever had a good driver's license photo? If you have, you're one of the proud few!

  1. Uhh...NO!!!

I think I'm only on my third photo. This one's pretty bad. It was a gazillion degrees outside and I'm sure I was sweating like a racehorse for it. Thank goodness its blurry.

  2. I've never had a good one, in fact, I'm not sure I know anyone who has.

  3. Mine is 8 years old! I was able to renew online so they didn't retake it but should have I think. Hated my glasses! I don't wear any now.

  5. Actually, believe it or not, my NE drivers license photo was REALLY GOOD! It was the one and only time I had ever had a decent photo. I just got my new KS license, though, and it is not good.

I had ONE good license photo. Alas, they do not last forever. And I get older. *Sigh*

  7. It's terrible! And you're right, only I think there's a little troll inside the camera that messes with it!

  8. The only decent one I took was when I was 21. Other than that, they were all bad.

  9. They only start looking good ten years later, like passports.

  10. I avoid looking at the DL as much as I do the mirror.

  11. I had two really good ones, both of which have now gone :( My last good one was the first one for my BC license, but I had to give it up a few months ago. They've now changed the rules so we can NOT smile - must stare straight ahead and be completely expressionless. Imagine what kinds of photos that produces!!!

At least yours only cost $24. Ours cost closer to $50, IIRC!!

  12. Amazingly enough, my last one actually came out decent. My hair was super short and I smiled okay and it didn't suck! I was completely shocked, because the ones before that... oy. Definitely a gremlin in their cameras!

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
