Gold Stars!

My daughter and I have been playing a lot of UNO lately. In fact, we each have our own nametags that she made, and if you are the champion for the round, you get a gold star beside your name.

I've only got one so far and she has three. She told me on the way to daycare today that to make it more fair, whoever wins the next round will get two gold stars. Then I said, "But what if you win? Then you'll have lots more gold stars than me!"

She just smiled.

Hmm. Methinks this is rigged...

Aww...she's throwing the game for you! How sweet is that?

  4. I love Uno. It gets ugly in our house. Is there anything more delightful than slamming down a wild draw four on a loved one? Hope you get some gold stars...but I'm not counting on it. :)

  5. I like how you hang out with your daughter, doing the simple (best) things. Walks, games, Uno! Those definitely make for the best times, and close memories. Kudos to you. (And I think she's ready to pull a fast one on you with Uno!)

  6. L.T. - Sometimes I'm stuck because I want her to win, but I also don't want her to win all the time because really, that's not how life is. But she just gets so happy with those gold stars that it's hard not to throw the game myself!

Terri - I'm glad you enjoy it. :-)

    Tess - Thanks. :-)

Rene - Oh man. Those 'draw 4' cards can be BRUTAL.

Joanne - I so enjoy doing the simple things with my daughter. I hope she's learning that you don't need a computer or a television or a video game to have fun!

  8. That doggone UNO. I always get "reversed" and "draw four." We all get a bit cranky when the stack in our hand reaches the double digits!
