Saturdays

I cleaned the apartment today, did two loads of laundry, and even dusted. But I also stayed in bed this morning and finished reading a novel, am wearing my lounging clothes, and do not intend to step foot outside today other than to get my mail. Instead, I'm sitting at my computer (my poor laptop is on the fritz right now) and working on editing my novel. The candle is burning, the baroque music is playing, and I've had my chocolate and Diet Pepsi for inspiration.

The first three chapters of the novel are done. I am pretty pleased with them. I have a whole lot further to go, and it's taking longer than I expected, but really, that's ok.

I may or may not take a nap this afternoon. But that's what I love about Saturdays. I have nowhere I have to be and time to indulge in whatever I want to. Since I was very busy last weekend, I'm savoring every minute of free time today.

And that's just how I like it. Stress-free, relaxing weekends are an absolute must for me, otherwise it is incredibly difficult for me to make it through the work week.

How is your Saturday?

  2. I'm blog struck again. Could use some of that Zest and Gusto - LOL and maybe a little VIM (like vim and vigor). But, La-de-da, going to watch a movie. Glad you are enjoying your serene Saturday!

  3. I'm in the same kind of mood you are. The mailbox is the farthest I'll get out today and I'm just about to curl up with a novel and escape into that world. Saturdays are the best :)

  5. Don't you just love days when a schedule doesn't have to be followed? Your day sounds so perfect.

I've had a busy day; grocery getting, some chores and entertaining some guests for a little bit. But tonight I'm going to settle in for a girlie movie! :)

  6. I LOVE days like that when there is no place you have to be, and no one that's expecting anything from you. My day has been busy and productive. Shopping and packing. Off to see the grandbabies tomorrow!

  7. I wish you the best on your editing!! I have three little monkeys, so there is no such thing as a loungy Saturday for me. ;) But we had beautiful sunshine today and a fun trip to the park and Starbucks and my favorite sub sandwiches, so it was a good day!

  11. My Saturday was busy, but fun :) Started off with a Nia class in the morning, then ran errands with Sean followed by baking cookies. After a quick dinner we headed over to see our friends - he turned 35 yesterday so we had cake and drinks at their house, then we went to a local pub where he and his band were playing. The music was great! We got home just after one :)

Today is a little slower, though I am in the middle of baking bread (well, rolls, if you want to get technical).

I love to hear from you!

One Day at a Time

I've always tried to live with this mentality: One day at a time. Unfortunately, when I implement it, I fail spectacularly. But for this...
