Isn't She Pretty?

My new toy! Well, actually, my new writing tool.
A Toshiba Satellite.
I love it already!

  13. So cute! I hope she serves you well :-)

FYI, one of my followers on Twitter is looking for a laptop. I directed her here, so she might ask you about your buying experience. She's a writer, too!

I'm the stalker L.C. and your mama warned you about. My son's looking for a mini-laptop. How big is the screen on your new beauty? Is it everything you ever dreamed of? Battery life? Does it use Word?

  15. Hi Lisha - Is he looking for a Netbook (which is a mini laptop) or a Notebook (the normal size laptop)? Mine is a Notebook. My screen is a little over 15 inches. It came pre-loaded with Microsoft Office, but it's a trial version. I wasn't too worried about that because I already own Microsoft Word software that I can put on it. I haven't tried out the battery on it yet, but I'm thinking (from what I've read) it should have around 2 hours of battery life.

What I love about it is how easy it types. Haha - I know, probably not what you wanted to hear!

  17. Thanks, all! I did a lot of editing with it last night. It's taking a bit of getting used to, but I'm enjoying it!

  18. A new laptop is a delight! I used an 8-year-old Compaq to write my 2nd book and then it went kaput. I adore my new Dell...especially now, when I'm on the road with it! It's just the best traveling buddy (next to my boyfriend, but he couldn't come along on this trip). Congratulations, and as my grandmother would say, enjoy it in the best of health.

(BTW, you probably already know this, but you might be able to claim the laptop as a business expense for writing. A little help with the taxes never hurts!)

  19. Christine, I thought about that, too - claiming it as a business expense. Since I do freelance writing, I just might be able to swing it!

    Melissa,

Yeah, he's looking for a netbook. Thanks for clearing up the nomenclature for me.

Use your shiny, happy Toshiba in good health!

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
