It's Getting Up There

My age, that is.

I will turn 32 tomorrow. Turning 30 wasn't so bad. Turning 31 was very, very hard.

Turning 32 just might be worse.

I'm taking the day off and plan to sleep in. Then I just might lounge in bed, watch High Society with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Grace Kelley, drink some Diet Pepsi, and have loads of dark chocolate that my office mates generously gave me.

And then I just might do a little work on my Italian novel. The characterization of my main character is going brilliantly. No, splendidly. Let's just say there are lots of -ly words involved in the process. ;-)

I apologize for not getting 'round to everyone's blogs the past few days, but work has been killer. I anticipate that I shall have time tomorrow to luxuriously troll the web instead of snatching little bites here and there at work.

Have a glorious weekend!

  1. Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day early, Melissa. May you have a joyous day doing whatever it is you feel like doing, and that includes doing nothing, too, if that's your call.

    Enjoy your day.

I'm 32, and can I just say, it's been the best year of my life? I've sold 3 books this year, so embrace 32! It rocks. :)

    Early Happy Birthday!

  6. I loved my 30s! They were so much fun. You sort of leave all the crap of your 20s behind. I'm hoping my 40s are even better. I'm only 6 mths in but so far, so good!

  8. Happy Birthday, Melissa. And age really is just a state of mind. Our generation is especially lucky - if we've had good food and shelter, then most of us don't look anywhere near our chronological age. It's not like we can stop it, so hopefully you'll feel better about it soon :)

The thirties are great. Every year gets better. You grow into yourself and people take you seriously.

The forties are even better, because you are very much YOU and don't give a crap what anyone else thinks anymore.

Enjoy your day -- may it be the start of a wonderful year!

  13. For some reason it feels like the even-numbered years are easier to "turn." Might just be me. ;)
