What Are You Reading?

It's a slow news day in the Land of Melissa. A tension headache sidelined me yesterday afternoon. I slept for four hours. GAH! I really don't feel too much better today. These tension headache take awhile to go away. Sitting at a computer all day certainly doesn't help.

So tell me...what are you reading? I'm reading The Good German by Joseph Kanon. Very good. I'm also reading Berlin Diaires: 1940-1945 by Marie Vassiltchikov and JoAnn Ross's Out of the Mist.

You?

  4. Hi Melissa,
I currently have a few books on the go - two harlequin, one Joyce Meyer, and an historical by Philippa Gregory.

By the way - you've been tagged, details are over on my blog.

  5. I don't get much time to read, sigh, but I did just finish Sasha White's Bound.

So you're really into war stories it looks like. That's very cool. I'm a bit of a history buff!

  6. Currently doing battle on my nightstand are Elizabeth George's forthcoming book What Came Before He Shot Her and the recently released Jack Whyte book Knights of the Black and White. Opening pages of both are excellent, though George's use of dialect is getting on my nerves (not her fault, just a pet peeve).

This is my first visit here (arrived via MsCreativity's as I'm your fellow tagee), but thought I'd jump in a join the fun.

I'm currently reading a 1980s novel, "Driving in The Dark" by Deborah Moggach and "How Our Ancestors Lived - A History of Life 100 years ago" and enjoying both :-)

  9. I just got over a migraine that was accompanied with a stuffed nose, plugged ears and general crapiness. Today I feel better but I sound terrible.

I'm not reading anything at the moment. Too busy writing, cleaning the house and getting ready to go on a week long trip...

    :)

I've been reading some Harlequin Medicals that I got at Nationals. They're fun, sweet reads. I'm enjoying them. Most recently I finished Her Longed-For Family. Very good!

  11. I'm currently reading Simply Love by Mary Balogh. Only she could make a one-eyed, one-arm hero hot and sexy. The book's amazing.

  12. Hugs on the headache, Melissa! Been a sufferer myself. I highly recommend reading (sorry!) HEALING BACKPAIN by John Sarno. I know it sounds crazy, but he writes about the mind-body connection and how stress causes us a lot of different kinds of pain. He's written several books about it. The hard cover is pretty technical. I'd start with one of the other ones first.

That said, I'm reading a Pepper Smith book. It's downstairs and I'm up, so can't remember the title, but it's a really good romantic suspense so far.

  13. Nothing right now - I just finished a really awfull book for review, so need some recovery time.

Though on our trip I bought Marian Keyes "Under the Duvet" (a collection of essays) and The Lovely Bones, so hope to get to those soon.

  15. I just finished reading Barbara Samuel's RITA-award winner, "Lady Luck's Map of Vegas." It was a great book! Next, I plan on reading her 2006 release, "Madame Mirabou's School of Love."
