Editing...Ahh, Bliss!

It's amazing how a few short days ago, I couldn't even fathom looking at my manuscript. And then Saturday shows up and wallah! The novel called to me. And I answered in a big way, spending most of the day working on it. I also managed a bit of work on Sunday in between church and a lovely nap. :-)

So I'd say my weekend was a success.

How about yours?

  1. Editing is the best part anyway. Way to go - well done.

  2. By the way, is your blogroll getting longer?

  3. Diane - Yes, it is getting longer! I just keep finding so many good blogs that I can't resist adding them. ;-)

  4. Oh, you must feel soooo good! I'm in the first quarter of a rough draft, which is my favorite part of the process. I always dread going back to revise because somewhere between finishing the rough draft and letting it sit, I convince myself it's really, really bad.

Then I begin revising and laugh because it's never as bad as I thought! Plus, it's fun to mock my bad writing slip-ups.

    Have a wonderful writing week!

  5. Jill - Oh I can relate! Sometimes I think my first draft stuff is so awful, too. And some of it IS awful, but there's a lot of good stuff in there, too. ;-)

  8. It was fun, but not as much work on the writing front as you, unfortunately. Well done.

  9. Rebecca - Thanks!

Jody - Yes, I think the Lord definitely gave me the motivation. :-)

Debs - Aren't you getting ready for vacation, though? I wouldn't worry about the writing right now!

  10. Glad to hear you're back at the novel! My weekend was much like yours, at home, a lot of writing, hanging around a bit. Relaxing.

  12. Yay, good for you.

My weekend was spent on house stuff so I was glad to get back to my editing today. It's my favourite part of the process. I just love it.

  13. Yeah, there is nothing more delightful than editing. It's right up there with changing baby diapers and getting a root canal on my "fun" spectrum.

  14. Shirley - I'm right there with ya. I love editing. :-)

How about I send you some Daniel Craig photos while you're editing? You can hang them up over your computer.

  17. So glad you're writing again, Terri! And as to your question on the word tool bar, I had to go in and change it every time. There may be another word counter that might work easier for you.

  20. Jenn - But you've been on vacation - and on a cruise! Perfect time to NOT get any writing done. ;-)

Ang - That sounds glorious. Crazy friends and a writing conference!

  21. I think you have found the secret to true success. Sometimes you have to wait until the right moment to tackle a project. I'm glad it worked so well.

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
