Fun Friday

It's been a great, relaxing week. Even though I've still been working just as hard as if I was in the office, there's been a relaxing atmosphere to it all. Maybe it's because I was able to take breaks sitting on my front porch swing and watching the kids play. All I know is, I could get used to this. (And yes, my daughter played dress up again - I have no idea what she's supposed to be, but notice the tiger tail? I'm thinking some sort of animal superhero...)
Since it's been a week for reading and relaxing, I thought I'd ask you all what you've been reading.
Here's my two:
Flags of Our Fathers by James Bradley
A Good Year by Peter Mayle
You?

  1. Hi, Melissa, glad you had a good week.

I'm currently reading many Ellora's Cave books, since I'm trying to write for them. Some I like more than others, but they all are built around hot sex. :)

To take a break, I recently sneaked in Sherlock Holmes in HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. I love Sherlock and Watson, and it took me back to lovely 1895 England.

I'm also reading JULIE AND JULIA by Julie Powell. She took a year to methodically cook every single recipe in Julia Child's MASTERING THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING, blogged about it, and came up with a bestselling book. Great fun. A creative use for a blog, wouldn't you say?

  2. How adorable is that picture!

I just finished Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear - I loved it!

Also, Five Quarters of an Orange, and I'm nearly done with Hound of the Baskervilles also, Elizabeth. :)

  3. I'm not in the HOUNDS club, dang!

I'm reading KOCKROACH by Tyler Knox, and recently finished NEVER LET ME GO by Kazuo Ishiguro (and that other one I complained about, which shall remain nameless!).

COLD MOUNTAIN is next, I think.

  5. Aww, you're daughter is so sweet. I'm glad you've been relaxing.

I'm currently reading a Trish Wylie ModX, to be followed by a Liz Fielding M&B Romance, and then Jill Mansell's latest.

    Have a good weekend.

    Sue :-)

  7. I've just finished 'Blood Ties' by Lori Armstrong and am now reading the sequel, 'Hallowed Ground'.

And I'll let your daughter rescue me anyday! She looks quite competent.

I'm reading Endless Chain by Emilie Richards. Pretty good, my first book I've read by her.

Sound like your week was really nice. Love the dress up girl. How cute!

I love to hear from you!

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
