Oh man. Not much to say about the weekend.
Saturday - Slept in. Worked on the novel. Read. Played a game of Scrabble with hubby and LOST AGAIN.
Sunday - Slept in, woke up with a scratchy throat and a headache. Determined to stay in bed all day long and hopefully get rid of whatever sickness was encroaching upon me. Didn't work. Took a nap. Watched "Hogan's Heroes." Worked on the novel.
No, I did not watch the Super Bowl (no cable) and really had absolutely no desire to.
Today, I'm back at work, trying to feel better, and failing miserably. Sick leave is not an option at this point since one of my co-workers is on vacation. So I must push through.
However, hubby did buy a lottery ticket last night, so maybe, just maybe, I might get lucky and win some moolah so I can quit the job and write full-time!
*cue uproarious Muttley laughter*
Ok, I'm done now. Back to reality.
Have a good Monday.

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...
Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...

I just finished reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl who Played with Fire . This is the second book in the series and features the character...

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...
Oh dear, I hope you feel better quickly. I'm sending best wishes as far as your husbands lottery ticket goes :) I just graduated in English, so I'm about to start on the same trying to find a job wishing I could write full time thing. I really admire your tenacity in terms of finding any time to write, though, and getting it done despite the sickness and workness. Keep it up! Good things will happen :)

Hope you're soon feeling better. I'm just recovering from something unpleasant and it's no fun.
ReplyDeleteI've got a lottery ticket too. Maybe, just maybe... :)
Hope you feel better soon and I'm crossing fingers that you win the lottery.
ReplyDeleteBesides being sick, your weekend sounds fab! (Get some Airborne!!) Hope all's better SOON.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon, and good luck on the lottery ... Maybe today is your lucky day :)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you win and feel better! I hate when I'm out of sorts.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be so nice, though? I hope you're feeling better soon. *hug*
ReplyDeleteWe didn't watch the Superbowl either (I wasn't even sure who was in it!) I usually lose at Scrabble too-Amy beats the stuffing out of me regularly:)
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you some hugs, and chocolate and keeping my fingers crossed for some cold hard cash too:)
Feel better-ok?
xx
Love the blog. Stumbled here from another blog. My allergies got the better of me a week ago and I'm just getting over the sinusy fun. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteHoping today you feel better!! Not good when you can't stay home sick. No one loves that.
ReplyDeleteWell if you won the lottery, call me, ok? I need a miracle:)
Wish my sweetie would play Scrabble with me. He will occasionally, but he's not crazy about the game.
ReplyDeleteHope you're back in the pink today! :)
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. Unfortunately, a very phleghmy (sp?) frog has taken residence in my throat and chest (this must be a big frog!) and I feel quite miserable. However, I am at work, which is keeping me somewhat busy, and is distracting me from how awful I feel.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! It's ok to take a few duvet days right? ;-) And on the scramble games - does your hubby might losing? I find that the men in my life so far have to keep playing until they win...scramble seems to rile them up.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel much better soon, and you never know, someone has to win that lottery, it could be you.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. You can still enter the HGTV Dream House giveaway--it's guaranteed to make you feel better!
