And, I admit, it's really fun to shop for journals. There are so many neat ones out there! This is the latest one I have:
It's become a place to unload my thoughts on just about anything: work, life, writing, relationships, family, and on and on. There's something about pouring it all out on the page that is incredibly therapeutic.
Do you journal? If you do, what does it look like?
I used to journal, but I haven't for years. This post makes me want to go back to it. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI journaled my way through school and it was a blast. When i had kids the journaling slowed to a crawl! Now I'm thrilled to take notes when I can apart from my writing.
ReplyDeleteI also used to journal daily, but stopped many years back. This makes me want to start up again too! There's something to be said for not only writing out your thoughts, but having them to go back to years later.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is a most beautiful journal!
I journal off and on.
ReplyDeleteI steer clear of the journal section in stores, I almost always end up buying one, if not three.
:D
Never have journaled. Guess blogging is my idea of journaling.
ReplyDeleteI don't journal daily, but do use beautiful journals to write my to-do lists/itineraries in, and I also keep a journal for different writing projects, jotting down notes and thoughts as I go.
ReplyDeleteI always kept a journal, but stopped about 10 years ago and now wish I'd kept it up as it's fun/interesting to look back sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI do but I'm down to the last of my preferred model so I'm panicking about replacements!
ReplyDeleteI have been journaling for over 30 years and have a stack of journals - each cover a little different! I love shopping for new ones - there are so many neat ones to choose from now. Barnes and Noble is a great place to get them and is one of my favoite sections there:-) Right now I am writing in one of the largest I have ever had and it is probably the most plain - just a hot pink with the words "My Journal" on the front.
ReplyDeleteGreat therapy as you said - I add stickers too and use different colors of ink:-)
I've kept a journal since I was in elementary school. There were a few breaks in between and I used to go months without updating, but lately the past few years I've been filling up journals very 4 months. So naturally there is a lot of journal buying going on and I try to get a different type every time. My one criteria is it has to have good paper and it has to fall open easily. I hate trying to write near the edges of the spine and feeling like I have to smoosh the book down to get in there.
