The 39 Steps

Since I am still under the weather, I indulged in a rare evening off - meaning I did nothing but lay around and watch movies. Luckily, I was in for a treat. Masterpiece Theater has a new remake of the classic thriller The 39 Steps online for a limited time.

It was a great film. If you're in the mood for a non-stop espionage adventure set on the eve of World War I with a terrific cast and lots of lovely scenes of Scotland and England, get thee to the website. You can watch it free until March 30!

  2. I love Rupert Penry Jones and enjoyed this version, though probably more so because he was in it.

  5. Thanks for the tip, Melissa, and for your comments on my blog. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Funny you're talking about 39 steps - I just downloaded the book the other day.

  6. Rupert Penry Jones is very good, I like him in the BBC Series called "Spooks" (about MI5 - Intelligence Services). And have 'just' seen him in a Poirot episode (he's made for these golden era type things!). I had a crush on the girl in this version of 39 Steps - can still have a crush after 40 you know!!, it 'is' very good isn't it!
Hoping you'll start to feel better soon Melissa :) P x

  8. I don't see how "Anonymous"'s comment has anything to do with your post. It's like he has a one-track mind or something. And it's like he has a hiccup or something. I don't get it, man.

  9. LOL, Randy. The spammers have found my blog. I may have to implement word verification (which I loathe).
