Short and quick post for Friday.
Why?
Because I love Friday.
Sometimes, I'm in the mood to go out with friends on a Friday night, have a few beers, and laugh a LOT. Other times, I want to hunker down in my apartment, get comfy on the couch, and read or write, or maybe even watch a movie.
I'm in that hunker down mode tonight. I'm reading an awesome book and can't wait to get back to it. So after exercising after work and a trip to the library with my daughter, that's exactly what I'm going to do.
What's your favorite way to spend Friday evening?

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...
Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...

I just finished reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl who Played with Fire . This is the second book in the series and features the character...

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...
I find after a busy week, Friday evenings are my decompress time. I come home, John usually makes supper and even has it ready for me when I arrive. I eat, soak in the tub and read for an hour, then we hang out and watch tv or a movie on the couch with the wood stove going. It's heaven...
ReplyDeleteIt does sound heavenly. And now you have an adorable little puppy to curl up with you, too!
ReplyDeleteTonight I'm taking my 7 yo and his best buddy to a hockey game.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I like both ways. Usually, though, I'm most content quiet and at home.
ReplyDeleteTonight I'll be readying the house for tomorrow's gaggle of first graders! My daughter invited her whole class to her birthday party. Should be fun! ;)
I like to go out to eat with my daughters on Fridays, after cooking all week! Then, just relax at home sweet home, in end-of-week mode. P.S. What book are you so hooked on?
ReplyDeleteJoanne - It's called "Washington at War" by David Brinkley about our capitol city during WW2. I LOVE his writing!
ReplyDeleteI'm the home body all the way around. If my children and husband allowed me I would curl up and read and write. The best evening besides a great dinner cooked by anyone except me!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to spend a Friday? Curled up with my hubby and chilling with my dudes. =]
Mostly I like to settle down and watch tv with my daughter then go to bed and read for a bit. I love Friday evenings as it's when I wind down from the week.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely evening.
Making pizza and catching up on either Daily Show or our fave new show Ice Pilots NWT, on the laptop, sitting in front of a roaring fire.
ReplyDeleteThat said, last night we did my second fave thing, had friends over to dinner (lasagne) and talked for hours :)
Hunker down like you said--with my hubby. Put my feet up and get a good snack:)
ReplyDeleteWhen you're at a stay at home mama you want to go OUT! I love getting out, going to a nice restaurant, then catching a movie. Nothing better. : )
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked on Broadway, Friday night was the start of the busy, multi-show weekend. Monday was my day off, so sunday night was the sigh of relief.
ReplyDeleteFor over twenty years, my Friday nights were about working backstage, then going out to unwind, then getting home and catching a few hours of sleep before heading back in for a two-show day.
Now --I do whatever I want! If I want to go out, I go out. The first few times I actually got to to out to dinner on a saturday night and not have to worry about getting to the theatre by 6:30 were a revelation.
Sometimes, I stay home.
Sometimes,I'm on the road for a weekend getaway, or I've just gotten away and am getting settled.
That's what I love about freelancing -- I get to do whatever I want, as long as I meet my deadlines.
