A World Without Books...

I just got back from the library and I can't wait to go home and start reading. I've been waiting for one book in particular to be available for awhile and when I spotted it on the "New Releases" table, I snatched it up.

As I walked back to the office (thank goodness the library is only a block away), I thought, "Life is better with books."

Then I thought, "What if we didn't have books?" Horrors!

So how would you finish this sentence?

"A world without books..."

I would be fine. I have seriously read probably no more than 20 books in my life. When I read my mind wanders and I think of other things and I have no idea what I just read. I would rather just watch the movie.

A world without books is not worth living in.

when I was at the Library of Congress a few days ago and saw Thomas Jefferson's collection that started the library, I nearly wept with joy.
