This weekend, with two wonderful days stretched out in front of me with nothing much to do, I determined I would not let the time get away from me.
And so, I set to work.
I wrote 3,200 words on Saturday and 1,500 words on Sunday.
Not as much as I had hoped, but I did make room for a walk, grocery shopping, church and a church BBQ, my daughter's play date, time with the hubby, and of course, a nap.
All in all, a success.
Have you had any recent writing successes?

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...

Kudos to you--almost 5000 words in 2 days is a huge accomplishment!
Awesome. I'm still waging the great query war of 2010 at the moment.
ReplyDeleteChristine - Yay, yay, yay! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteTravis - I'm still waiting to hear on some queries. But all the requests I had out have been rejected. *sigh*
Sunday we were all trapped home with a yucky stomach virus, and I managed to get a lot of writing done. And I started a new book!
ReplyDeleteAll down time isn't bad:)
Congratulations on the impressive word count. I managed 2,500 words this weekend and put together some questions for an interview, but apart from that it was a fairly quiet weekend.
ReplyDeleteWowie wow! Go, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteSeems like each time I have a breakthrough in one area of my writing, I fall back in another. I'm learning it's part of my process, and I can't let it slow me down.
Congrats on your wordcounts! It's nice to be in the zone like that. I'm just getting ready to return to blogging, and def completed a few major projects over the summer. It felt good to really focus on those. Hope you had a good summer, happy writing :)
ReplyDeleteTamika - I saw that your family got mowed down by the flu. So sorry! Hope you're all feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteDebs - 2,500 words is AWESOME. Well done!
Janna - It's such a learning process, isn't it? I don't think we'll ever get it all figured out, even after we're published. ;-)
Joanne - So glad you were able to focus on your writing! I'm looking forward to your blog posts again!
Sounds like a dream weekend!
ReplyDeleteSharla - Wasn't too bad! Could have been cooler weather-wise and I would have been quite content.
