Here in the U.S., it's Memorial Day weekend. Monday is officially Memorial Day, a time to remember those who served and died in the U.S. Armed Forces. The holiday has evolved over time to remembrance of loved ones who have also passed on.
On this holiday, I usually watch war movies all day long, but not this year. I might be able to sneak in one, but otherwise, I'll be moving the rest of my stuff out of my ex-husband's house. Not an exactly fun project. And I don't know where I'm going to put it all, either!
What are your plans for this long weekend?

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...
Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...

I just finished reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl who Played with Fire . This is the second book in the series and features the character...

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...
Best to you! I hope each aspect goes better than you imagine.
ReplyDeleteWe've got the last of three-weekends-in-a-row cookouts this Sunday, and I'm looking forward to the moment when the last guest leaves... ;)
I hope it all goes well with the move :(
ReplyDeleteIt's an important time. I'd forgotten it was memorial weekend down there. Important to remember our past and honor our soldiers.
I'll be writing a proposal and editing. Lots of work! But I'm hoping to get a nice sunny day to take a bike ride on the rail trail with my family!
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend goes smoothly :)
ReplyDeleteAs for me, work, work and work! But if the weather invites me to do so, a walk will be just lovely in between.
Hope your weekend goes well.
ReplyDeleteI shall be polishing up short stories to submit them to various magazines. Well, that's the plan anyhow.
Our long weekend was last weekend (Victoria Day), but Sean and I are heading out camping at Tofino on Monday (my m-i-l is staying with the cats). Can hardly wait - have heard about how gorgeous it is there and so far, the weather looks half-decent.
ReplyDeleteHugs on that final bit of your move. Hope it goes well.
No plans!I wish we had some close friends or family nearby and then I might. My husband will go to his free golf and I will do as I always do--write.
ReplyDeleteHope your moving plans go well.
It isn't really a holiday weekend for us. Some are out of town, some working. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to remember the day's real purpose.
ReplyDeleteI'll be mostly at my parents' helping out with Mom. My fam is enjoying fishing/skiing for a few days, so I'm sure I'll get full reports when they return. :)
Got my Memorial Day post up, so I'll be working on some essays. I know what you mean about the times when you can't not write, but inspiration isn't breaking like waves on the beach. Sometimes I have to take a break and just live life for a little bit and before I know it, here comes that little muse trying to sneak back in. You'll be flooded with good ideas soon!
ReplyDeleteThe weekend's over, and I spent it working (Sat) and repainting the living room (Sun/Mon). Only a little painting left to do, and we get our downstairs back...
ReplyDeleteI hope the move went well!
