Snoopy's Writing Life

I know exactly how Snoopy feels. I have several abandoned files on my computer of stories started and never finished.

You?

  1. I actually only get a good idea once in a blue moon, so the few that I get, I fully intend to write them!!! But, as I work at a snail's pace, and am always going to back to old stories to revise them, I can still relate to dear Snoopy.

    1. I get lots of ideas, but good ideas...well, I'm not so sure about! ;)

  2. Yep, I'm with Snoopy. I'll get some 'Great Idea' that dissolves to nothing when I try to put it to paper. Luckily some actually do make the transition to the written word.

    1. I find that happens to me a lot when writing my novels. A great idea will pop up and I'll go with it, then I end up 'virtually' crumpling it up and tossing it.

  3. I had a great idea today, wrote a good first paragraph, and then nothing...It was so discouraging. But tomorrow is another day-for all of us, Snoopy included:)

    1. Well darn it. Maybe that first paragraph will be a springboard for another story. And yes - to quote Scarlett O'Hara, "Tomorrow is another day!"

  5. Oh yes. Several. If the story doesn't move me fast, I drop it.

    1. Yep. And I would venture to guess that you never think about them again. :)

Yes, I unfortunately know what Snoopy is feeling! I have almost 60 posts in my drafts file and only half are completed and ready to upload (I think all are WWI/WWII photo posts). The last few weeks I've been so busy and in a research lull!

    1. Oh, life. Why does it get in the way of our writing/history research? =D I could seriously get a whole lot more done if 1) the day job would cooperate (i.e. vanish) and 2) my health would improve 100%!
