Back to the Grind

I tried to do a whole lot of nothing this weekend. I think I accomplished that. :-)

Watched some WWII movies, including The Guns of Navarrone with Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, and David Niven. Great movie. Also started watching Band of Brothers - I borrowed it from my brother with the promise that I would take very good care of it.

Tonight we have our chapter meeting. And I'm going on very little sleep. My dog's fight with the thunderstorm last night kept me awake. He was running through the house, back and forth, back and forth, barking at the thunder and lightning. Needless to say, I wasn't sleeping very well.

What did you do over the weekend?

  1. Watched The Great Raid, great movie. Otherwise, didn't do anything special.

  2. Hmmm, what did I do? Read a lot of my book for review, played with my website, watched the Battlestar Galactica season finale as well as the big hockey game on Saturday night.

Are you liking Band of Brothers? I did, though found it pretty intense.

  3. Never seen the Great Raid, Eve, but I plan to, soon!

Tess - I've only watched the first hour of Band of Brothers, but it has immediately captured my attention. I just have to pick times to watch it when my daughter can't see it since I know it has a lot of disturbing images.

I took the kids to the zoo, played cards with Mom, and relaxed. It was nice. :)

How did you like Band of Brothers?

We tried to watch Band of Brothers but we were watching right before bed and it was too disturbing for me...couldn't sleep after it. I need to try it during daylight.

  8. Did Harrison Ford have a part in Guns of Navvarone?

I spent a great weekend at White Point Beach Resort on my chpt's annual retreat and had a blast. May take me all week to work off the food I ate though...

That's a serious dog you've got there! Most run and hide, not taken on the thunder gods.

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
