Life Chaotic? Write Anyway

Life has been full of changes lately. This isn't a bad thing because really, life is change.

Trying to write when life is chaotic like this isn't easy. But I think it's necessary in order for us, as creative people, to really process the chaos around us.

I ran across this quote today and I think it makes perfect sense:

So much sense, in fact, that I think I'll have it tattooed on my arm.

Just kidding.

When life is chaotic, writing is my escape. I just need to learn how to refuse to give in to the excuse of chaos and focus on the writing instead.

And there's no better time to do that than right now.

  1. That's quite a powerful quote, and I totally agree. My life is insane at the moment, but the BEST days are when I get up early and write.

    1. I wish I could get up early and write. I am just not a morning person - so I have to settle for late at night. :)

Hope life settles down for you soon - it's amazing how crazy things can get.

The quote is a great reminder Melissa! Writing is still somewhat new to me and I'm trying to take the chaos as it comes. I just try to prioritize a little more, go with the flow and hope for the best!

    1. Jess, that's about all we can do sometimes. The most important thing is not to give up! :-)

  4. That's always been my curse: giving up on writing when life is chaotic, which in large family, it almost always is. I wish I had that male gift of compartmentalizing things instead of living life like spaghetti, everything intertwined!

    1. Yes! Men are blessed to be able to do that. But that's also why they forget to do so many things...pick the kids up from school, get everything at the grocery store, etc., etc. Women are the ultimate multi-taskers. LOL
