Please Pray

Only 45 minutes from me, nine people are dead - one is the gunman.

During the height of the shopping season, a gunman walked into an Omaha mall and opened fire in a store called Von Maur.

I am literally sick to my stomach.

I can't listen to the news anymore. I've heard it all afternoon. I just want to run home and hug my kids.

Please pray for the people affected by this horrible act - and for the families who lost loved ones.

  3. Missy,

Thanks for your post. God bless you. We need all the prayers we can get in Omaha right now. A black hole was blown through everyone's reality here yesterday. I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of friends who frequent Von Maur, but I just found out that all family members in Omaha have been accounted for and are safe.

I hope everyone will remember that not only is Omaha a wonderful, friendly community, but that no matter where you are, most strangers next to you in a mall would push you to safety in a storage room before they would shoot you. We can't give in to the fear of these situations, or they will only continue. Use your instincts, be more mindful, but don't live in fear of everyone around you.

Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...
