Is Christmas really only four days away? Wow. I honestly wonder where 2007 went.
I finished up some shopping last night, but I have just a few more items to get tonight with hubby, then we'll be done. I'm also buying groceries tonight since we have a nice winter storm warning for the weekend. No need to be stranded in my house without Diet Pepsi or chocolate!
I have a four-day weekend ahead of me and I plan to make the most of it. This will include:
1) Rearranging the Christmas tree that the kitties have mercilessly destroyed
2) Making homemade cherry cheesecake for Christmas dinner
3) Curling up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and watching an old movie or reading a book
4) Researching the novel and writing down ideas
6) Wrapping presents!
7) Keeping my daughter from finding the presents before I wrap them!
8) Relaxing and enjoying the Christmas spirit!
Happy Holidays to you too!

That is wonderful! In 13 days my UK edition comes out. eek!
Merry Christmas!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Peace,
E
This morning, I made flavored coffee with flavored cream and ate Christmas cookies with it :) Have a wonderful holiday and a blessed new year!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha - DIET Pepsi and CHOCOLATE sounds like a contradiction of terms. Why not go the whole hog and have full fat Pepsi too? I'm of the opinion that it's better for you anyway without all of those artificial synthetic sweeteners that are supposed to give us epilepsy and autism ... or is that a diabetes compromise too?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I gave up diet drinks ages ago, years in fact. But I simply don't drink as much fizzy pop as I used to anyway, thinking I can only have half as much because it's twice as fattening, so I managed to wean myself off it.
Hey, Melissa
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas! Sounds like you're almost ready for the big event.
I'm with Diane on the diet soda thing. I'd quit all sodas once, but the addiction raised its ugly head again. I stay away from the diet stuff, though, because all of the major manufacturers use aspartame, which was created to be used as an ant poison. Monsanto realized they could make more money on it dumping it in our food supply as a sweetener than as an insecticide, and many now suspect it is the chief reason cases of brain cancer have soared in the last 25 years. I pick up some sweetener packets containing aspartame at restaurants in the summertime, spread the contents around the outside of my house, and by the next day, those ants are deader than Abe Lincoln.
Virgil's makes some wonderful diet soda using stevia, an herb. Stevia has a bit of an aftertaste, but no health hazard, and each bottle contains only six calories. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a cola drink by them; that's my soda pop weakness. I'm waiting for a soda manufacturer to use chicory root powder in its product, fantastic tasting sweetener and all natural.
Anyway, I want you and Grosvenor Square to be around for a LONG time. Kick back with a wee bit of Diet Coke, come chocolate and that cherry cheesecake and have a wonderful four-day weekend!
Wow, Diana, ant poison? I was aware of the health risks but not that. And fancy managing to kill those ants with sweeteners. Even more reason to find an alternative. If that doesn't put us off, nothing will. So yes, Melissa, OD on the choccies instead - and I'll find a replacement for my sweeteners if Candarel contains aspartame. (I've not bought or supped Pepsi or Coca Cola in yonks - diet or full fat.)
ReplyDeleteThis is what I found on the whole aspartame/ant poison deal:
