While chatting with Rene yesterday, I told her that my writing that afternoon was a struggle. The words just weren't flowing. Part of me wanted to quit. The other part refused.
I'm glad I listened to that other part. I determined to just "write through it" and it wasn't long before my fingers started flying.
At the end, I had over 2,000 words. That felt great. But you know what I love even more? Printing off a hard copy of those words and adding it to the rest of the manuscript. It's amazing to see the pages pile up. I love to hold the weight of it in my hand and say, I did this.

That's great, Melissa! I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes my worst day ends up being my best writing day. Funny, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYep, writing through it is definitely important!!! WTG, Melissa :-)
ReplyDeleteHmm that's smart. I've never thought of printing as I go. Good job on pushing through. If it's crap you can fix it, you can't work with a blank page.
ReplyDeletePrinting as you go?? Man, I haven't thought of that. Though I do print out the first third, revise, write the next third, print, revise, write out the rest.
ReplyDeleteGreat job pushing on through!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part after writing The End is printing the 400 plus pages out and just holding it, lol.
