I didn't write a thing on Saturday. Instead, I slept in late (ooh, how I LOVE to sleep in on Saturday mornings!) and took my time getting up. Stayed in bed for awhile and read a new book and then got ready to go to the mall for the back to school shopping experience. And I found me another pair of Levis - woo hoo!
My daughter had a blast - we found her plenty of clothes and even found her a shirt with a horse on it - she's been wanting one. But we have yet to find the tiger shirt. My daughter loves tigers. In fact, she told me the other day that she doesn't want to be a teacher anymore when she grows up - she wants to be a zoo helper. She loves animals so much that I wouldn't be surprised if that is the path she takes.
Yesterday we went to church, ran to the home improvement store, and then came back. I had a relaxing afternoon. Read my book, played with the dogs, and even got quite a bit of writing done. The weekend went entirely too fast, as usual, but at least I wasn't so busy that I feel wiped out today. If I can have a day to relax and lounge around during the weekend, Mondays aren't so bad for me.
School starts a week from today. I don't think my daughter is ready. She'll be a big first grader this year. I think she'll be just fine, but there must be something a little nerve wracking about going from kindergarten to first grade.
I'm just glad that autumn is almost here! I can't wait for cooler temps.

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...
Sounds like you had a nice weekend. I did too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy son started school (jr high!) last week, my daughter starts preschool tomorrow. My kids are getting so big! Makes me feel old...
Sounds like a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou're daughter will slide right into the routine within a couple of days. And she will love it.
Sometimes you need some downtime from writing. I'm usually very sluggish in my writing, and then hit writing streaks. LOL. Back to school, how fun for you!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have plenty of time for writing once school starts :) Sounds like a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSometimes doing a lot of nothing on the weekend is the best thing you can do for yourself. Sending good wishes your way for you daughter's new school year! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend. And oddly I found a new pair of Levis on Saturday too. They are one of the few jeans that come in short leg length and I can always find a style that flatters.
ReplyDeleteAaack - I coulda sworn I'd left a comment here yesterday. Glad you had such a relaxing weekend :-) Those are soooo important! Plus getting some writing done is a real bonus.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's starting first grade too! She would be in grade 3 if we'd stayed in Scotland so she's more than ready for it. It'll be an emotional moment when she finally does those full days :)
