I haven't been reading much lately. I'm not sure why because I am always known for having a book in my hands. But in the past month, I haven't found a story to capture my interest for very long.
Well, that's going to change this month. I just started Bluffing Mr. Churchill by John Lawton - and it promises to be a good one - a World War II spy thriller.
I also snagged a copy of Francine Prose's Reading Like a Writer and started that one, as well. Sandra Gulland recommended it, and I've heard lots of other people say good things, so I'm anxious to dive into it.
And finally, I got to pick this month's selection for our book club at work, and I chose The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.

I'm very interested to hear what you think about THE THIRTEENTH TALE. There were things I really loved about it, and things I didn't. I got ahead of the story a few times, but I was also surprised a few times.
ReplyDeleteI'm finishing Sharon Shinn's DARK MOON DEFENDER, I'm struggling with another book, and I'm delighted to be back re-reading WILL IN THE WORLD: HOW SHAKESPEARE BECAME SHAKESPEARE, which is one of the best biographies I've ever read.
Nothing. I'm reading nothing. I know, shocking isn't it? Well, I'm reading a nonfiction photoshop book, does that count? This coming weekend though, I've promised myself that I'll start a new book...

ReplyDeleteI'm just about finished with ONE SISTER'S SONG, by blogger Karen Degroot Carter. Before that, I had to read a book my company sent out to all of us called, NOW, DISCOVER YOUR STRENGTHS. I'll have my April reads posted in the next day or two. I read some good stuff this month. :)
ReplyDeleteLike you I haven't read anything is a week or two but I'm awaiting a shipment from Amazon as we speak. Normally I buy my books locally but I couldn't find The Bone Pickers anywhere around so I ordered it and two others just so I could get free shipping.

Devon - I'm really looking forward to reading it. Strangely enough, our local libraries have nearly all fo them checked out, so it must be a very popular book!

Haha, Lisa, we had to read something like that for work, too - Strengths Finder 2.0. I enjoyed finding out what my top 5 strengths were, though. :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm in between books right now. I just finished Heart Shaped Box and now I need to find something different. I'm thinking of "1776" by McCullough
