At least when you're dealing with the dentist.
I waited too long to go to the dentist and get this one tooth fixed. As a result, I am now the happy recipient of a root canal appointment.
Big, hugh, enormous SIGH.
It's my own fault, really. I should have quit putting off the inevitable. But I had that whole fear of dentists thing going on, despite the fact that I've been to the dentist plenty in my life. I suppose the majority of the time was when I was in high school and my mother made me go to the dentist. Now that I don't have to worry about that, I tend to put it off more and more.
Well, it finally caught up to me.
Besides a whomping $500 bill that is attached to the root canal, I have the joy of sacrificing a Saturday for it.
Oh joy.

What a Difference a Day (or Two) Made...
Dinah Washington sings a wonderful tune called "What a Difference a Day Made." While the lyrics are romantic in nature, it perfect...

All right. Enough with the down-in-the dumps posts. I realized that I had way too many of them in the past few weeks and I am bumming myself...
Wow, that really bites, as it were.
ReplyDeleteSorry Melissa.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the anticipation will be worse than the experience, though. You'll be relieved when it's underway, then done.
Doesn't it make you wonder about the markup on dental work? I mean really... How much does it cost for the little hardening stuff they put in your tooth? How long does it take for it to be put in your mouth. Not the amount of time you have to wait in the chair, the actual time it takes for the dentist to put it in your mouth, let it settle, file it down an so on. It probably costs the dentist 40 cents per tooth.
ReplyDeleteAlmost as bad as buying something full price at the mall.
Sorry about the tooth news. That sucks all the way around.
Eeeee!!! You have my sympathy!
ReplyDeleteUgh! How awful. I hope it all goes smoothly. I'm not sure which would hurt worse - the root canal or the $500 bill.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hate it when our mothers are right.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you. Good luck, bring on the laughing gas!
ReplyDeleteYouch! On both counts. Hope the tooth pain and the wallet pain go away soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour dentist works weekends? Wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been doing the same thing for months. I know I have a cavity, and I keep putting off the filling.
But you've taught me a lesson. I'll call the dentist tomorrow. Right after I have another piece of chocolate...
Hugs on the root canal! Ugh, what a way to spend a Saturday. :(
ReplyDeleteOooooh - poor you. Big hugs, Mel - hope it goes as well as can be expected!
