A reader won't know or care if we've spent four hours worrying over one word. They will care if the story and the characters don't engage them.

Good luck!Shirley Wellshttp://www.shirleywells.com/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12150605.post-84389271866135575082011-09-29T01:54:26.733-06:002011-09-29T01:54:26.733-06:00Very good advice Melissa!Very good advice Melissa!Flowerpothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14102679179201725732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12150605.post-63546743391657445752011-09-28T16:27:32.992-06:002011-09-28T16:27:32.992-06:00For me, revising is the place to let the voice dee...For me, revising is the place to let the voice deepen. But to do that, you are right...you have to write from your heart as well (if not more than) your head. Most readers will not be dazzled by the beauty of your sentences...but they will be swept away by the glory of the emotions on the page. That's the lesson I need to keep relearning!Christine Fletcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350760019997430843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12150605.post-8456098014125591722011-09-28T11:29:05.497-06:002011-09-28T11:29:05.497-06:00I love the editing phase too. Sometimes you can over think a scene and rewrite it so many times that you can't remember what the purpose of the scene was in the first place.Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00685341739870191402noreply@blogger.com
